Training Division

A firefighter's training never stops. New equipment, skills and techniques are constantly being developed and implemented throughout the fire service. The Training Division has an important role in upgrading the skills of the entire staff of the Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services Department.

Training starts at the basic level with the selection process for probationary firefighters and continues through the recruitment process.

Responsible for the in-service training of all personnel, the Training Division is involved with the coordination and training in many areas including the specialty teams and the incident management system.

The Training Division is under the supervision of Captain Doug Sim, Training Officer.
